ESTHER E. "ESSIE'' HAYWARD, age 83, of Washington Court House, passed away at 3:26 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Court House Manor of Washington C.H. She was born on April 13, 1941, in Chillicothe, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Chloe (Blakenship) Johnson.
Esther graduated from Bloomingburg High School and retired from Deer Creek State Park & Lodge after twenty plus years of service as their Director of Food and Beverage. In addition, Esther owned several businesses Essie's Carriage House, and a Dog Grooming Business. She loved all animals but especially loved her dogs, Toby, Teddy, Isabel & Odie.
Survivors include her sons, Bob (Stacey) Fridley of Mt. Orab, Gary (Ruth) Kellenberger of Washington C.H., Steve Kellenberger of Greenfield and Dana (Aimee) Kellenberger of Washington C.H., grandchildren Robert Shawn, Tiana Paige, Garrett, Rebecca, Peyton, Preston, and Jase. Several great-grandchildren, nieces', nephews, and a host of friends.
